I’ve been gone for a few weeks now, but I’m back and writing again.
Starting again is a difficult thing after leaving something behind for a time; it can be so easy to talk yourself out of it, say that it wasn’t meant to be or that you missed your chance. But it’s important to just start, even with the smallest action.
This short post is mine.
I’ve been keeping busy and still enjoying life! Since the last post, I’ve been apple picking with my wife, and made some delicious spiced apple jam. We’ve also begun meal prep, preparing our lunches on one day for the week ahead. I’ll talk more about this in later posts with photos, but this week we made roast lamb and so many roast vegetables. It cuts down on the prep time and the mental effort spent on choosing several different lunches, and leads to more delicious meals because you can spend a longer time on the dish (just once or twice a week instead of 7 times).
We saw the lovely autumn leaves in the Mt Lofty Botanic Gardens, and visited the town of Hahndorf (one of our favourite places, an old German town just outside of Adelaide).
If you are in Australia (or elsewhere in the Southern Hemisphere), just remember Autumn is a beautiful time to be out enjoying nature. Winter is coming, and it will be even more gorgeous – I’ll be visiting waterfalls once the rain starts coming in more!
